Saddlebrook Appaloosa Horses

• November 16, 2005 - Men at Work

Well, the computers, phones and cable are all working again. Hallelujah! It’s way too hard keeping everything going around here without a computer in particular. Much less the kids’ TV shows, lol! We are still having problems with Buddy subscriptions which Bill is working on, and the Animal Planet camera which AP is working on, but some order has been restored. Whew!

A guy was here with a second aerial photo of Saddlebrook. He flies around in a plane taking pictures of people’s property and then asks you if you want to buy them. It’s like that guy in the restaurant on your vacation that takes your picture at the table and you have a hard time saying no once you see how happy you look! Airplane guy really does a nice job, though. We have previous photos like this, but none with the new barn in them. His first fly-over resulted in lots of other surrounding fields and other homes in the picture, so he re-shot for us and got just our farm, a lot closer up. It looks nice.

We had visitors over the weekend that were looking to purchase one of our horses. So it was time to show them off. Bill got Tux, Java, Fanny and Spice all cleaned up and gave them a good longing. The person who visited and her 8 year old daughter are going to be showing in the Appaloosa shows in Illinois, so if they do buy a horse we will be seeing them at shows around here. They just loved everyone. Java had diarrhea so he didn’t show as well as we would have liked. Spice on the other hand did very well. It seemed as though they liked both Spice and Squeakers, so we will have to see who they decide to take home, if any. Squeakers got compliments on her “nice, stocky build” and until they found out she was a very young horse they thought she was pregnant, lol! We have another couple coming this weekend from Texas, so today’s visitors will most likely make a decision before then so they don’t risk the chance of liking the same horse as our next visitors. We also talked with Andy and Elizabeth and Bill will go there in the next couple of weeks to get a good video of Luke. We get inquiries on him often, but just haven’t decided what would be best to do. He will be very hard to part with.
