Saddlebrook Appaloosa Horses

• December 2, 2005 - It's a BOB thing

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday. We spent ours with almost all of our extended families, and it was great getting to see everyone.

Bobble has been hanging out with Bobbina in the new barn for the past week or so. It is nice and warm of course and there is food and water in there all the time. I know it is early in the season, but we have been seeing far fewer mice this year than last. Maybe with two of them it will be enough. DualBobs.

The meeting with the people who came to see Tux went well. He is always so very well behaved; I knew he would do great. He even longed great, which we haven’t practiced for a while. They are still interested and today we faxed over some papers on him. Hopefully they will make a decision soon.

We moved the horses around to their new locations for winter. Pharaoh, Roxy, Frosty, Cookie and Java are in. The weanlings, Fanny and Spice are out. Penny and Squeakers moved to the big corner pasture, which is different than what we had earlier planned – upon second thought we figured that Penny and Fanny, the two Plus-Size Mares, might be a constant fence-mending opportunity for us if we put them side by side. That backyard pasture was the first one that Susan and I made years and years ago, and it is a few inches lower and a little less sturdy with eight foot boards instead of 16 footers. So now Fanny and Spice are in the backyard pasture and Zippy stayed where he is at. I moved some cameras around so that we can keep an eye on the weanlings. Our main camera was on the fritz over at our ISP but it looks like it is back on line now. I also dewormed everyone today, so they will be ready for winter. Of course when you move horses around, you also need to move halters and feed for everyone, too!
