Saddlebrook Appaloosa Horses

• December 7, 2005 - My Maggie

We tried to move Maggie into the warm barn but she would have nothing to do with it. She was snuggled into her straw pile in her house and wouldn’t even come out for tasty grain. It’s so cold out now that she really needs to be in a warmer place than her house. But she LOVES that house like a turtle loves its shell. Maggie needs to be outside of her house so we can get a grip on her; otherwise it’s like trying to pull a 250-pound rock out of a well! We’ll try again with some yummy people vittles to entice her.

We got an email from the Appaloosa Journal asking if we had any high resolution photos of Tux in the snow with Cookie, which they had seen on our site. The Journal is interested in using the photos for an upcoming issue, possibly even the cover. We’ll get them what they need and hope to see Tux and Cookie in the Journal soon!

Speaking of Tux we received an offer on him from some folks in northwestern Wisconsin who had been here to look at him a couple of weeks ago. We went ahead with the agreement and Tux will move to his new home on January 2nd….great little guy and sure to be a wonderful show horse! We’ll miss his sweet personality around here but know he’s going to a really loving home. On the contrary, Matilda won’t miss Tux much as he tends to lord it over her and runs her off when he is bored. He doesn’t hurt her or we’d separate them of course, but she will thumb her nose at him as the trailer leaves!
