It warmed up enough (all the way to 12!) to put all the inside horses out for a little while today. They were glad to stretch their legs. The three babies haven’t even come out from their shelter for a few days now, but we saw their head poking out today. Usually they are inside catching the few rays of sun coming through the door to warm up. Most often Chester and Tux make a Mattie sandwich so she must stay really warm! Big Mama Frosty had herself a full out nap in the arena the other day. She was lying on the ground with her eyes closed and nose touching the sand. As she fell more deeply asleep, her nose would get scrunched up sideways as her head lolled over, then she would wake up. She kept doing it over and over, just like a grandpa watching TV in his favorite comfy chair. All the while Cookie dozed right next to her, but standing up. Those pregnant moms need their naps!
Bobbina has made yet another BarnBuddy. Abby spied BB and Luke in the arena yesterday; Luke had his nose down towards the ground and BB was rubbing up against it! We don’t know if Luke was loving it or just way too shocked to do anything but freeze there!!
Look for Cookie and Tux on the February cover of the Appaloosa Journal! They are using a beautiful photo Bill took when Tux was still at his mom’s side. It’s of the two f them in the snow with our barns in the background – they sure make a colorful pair!
