Saddlebrook Appaloosa Horses

• March 10, 2006 - If it broke, fix it

Well, we apologize for the late update this week. We had a teeeeeny problem. The server crashed that hosted both the barnbuddy site and the appaloosa.org site. The server didn't just crash…the hard drive is dead so as of right now, we can't get any of the site data. Everything you see is from the backups I have at this point, and I haven't backed up well for about a year. The good news is we can start over and do everything better than ever. The updates will be going to blog format which is a little easier for us and better for you. I will also make some other changes as things come up so stay tuned. And as if that’s not enough, coincidentally we lost power on the computer that runs all of our streaming cams! When it rains it pours. So send positive Buddy energy our way until we get this all figured out. Thanks!

Romeo and Phoebe (don’t you just want to say “Juliet” instead??? lol!) went outside with Cookie and Frosty this afternoon. It really warmed up a lot today so we put them out for some fresh air and a good muddy romp in the paddock near the office. Pharaoh and Mattie were right next door and everyone had a nice visit together. Phoebe is getting so big. We are going to have to put a little halter on her pretty soon and teach her to lead. Especially since she marches to her own drum and who knows how long she will keep following mom in and out of the barn without a lead rope! Not only that but I am planning to bring Cookie and her to the Midwest horse fair in a month.

On a relatively quiet in the office this week Cindy T was at the desk doing bills when she heard a loud “tha-thump” sound coming from the arena. She knew she was alone (or so she thought) and no horses were in the arena. But upon further investigation, she found Bobbina the kitty in the arena just below the window prancing around and mouthing “meow.” Turns out BB’s bowl was empty and she was trying to get someone’s attention by knocking on the window! Guess there’s just not enough mice on the menu these days : )
