The barn was humming the other day. Both the vet and the farrier were out here at the same time. The farrier trimmed Mattie, Pharaoh and Squeakers. After that Chris, a local trainer that started Zippy when we first got him, came to get Squeakers. Squeakers will be spending a month or so with Chris for some basic training. The vet checked Cookie who did ovulate after we bred her and is pregnant. Then the vet did chiropractic on Penny for her hip. She also did a flex test on Penny and found that her hind left hock was not feeling so great. She thought it might be arthritis, and took x-rays to see exactly what’s up. We should know something by tomorrow. The vet is coming out to check Frosty again, who is still not ready to be bred. Hopefully in the next few days.
I managed one big success getting the streaming cameras working. The funny part is that during all the server outages I didn’t notice that the computer for the streaming cams had died. Holy cow, one disaster in Texas with our ISP while we had another mini-disaster at the same time in Wisconsin. Good thing it turned out to be just the power supply to the computer. Drew and I got a new one and he helped me put it in. We turned it on and everything was back working. I also worked a lot on the appaloosa.org site getting the main page up and working, along with about half of the public site. I need to upload each page, and then upload the images for that page and then check to make sure all the links work. I am also trying to update the things that need to be changed as I go. Once I think I am done I will need you to help check everything. I should be getting the drive back next week and if, if I can get the data off we will be all set. After many, many more hours of reconstruction, that is! I am sorry to say it may be weeks before the site is working perfectly and reliably. Sheesh, what a drag and a monumental waste of time. Ok, I’m done whining now:)
Well, it’s finally set. We are taking Mister Lukewarm in for his g-e-l-d-i-n-g (codeword: “spa visit”) next week. We have not heard from the guy who was interested in him, and Luke is finally starting to act like a stallion. He has been such a mellow fellow up to this point and we want him to stay like that. He’ll stay easy to handle once he comes back from the spa.
