We have been putting Regumate in Penny’s grain, which is a supplement that helps mares keep their pregnancies. She seems to be doing well.  There’s been so much rain lately that we have standing water in our fields and that almost never happens.  It’s a challenge in some areas finding a dry enough, mud-free spot to feed the hay.  Sure wish things would dry up a little and we could get our hay in!

Romeo took a good roll in the pasture the other day and was caked in mud afterwards. After it had a chance to dry, we went after him with the brush to get it off. When you start brushing, the little ones still look around and move away just a bit like, “Hey, whatcha doing over there?” Then they realize just how good it feels, especially on that itchy mud. Romeo sort of went into a trance after a minute or two.

I finished painting the railing of the new barn last week.  There’s a little balcony above the office door and we’ve been putting off painting it because it’s high and you know we don’t really love ladders too much around here!  Cindy T and Don T had gotten it painted far enough so that I wouldn’t need to use the ladder.  The weather held out so things had a chance to dry well before the snow hit Sunday. Returning the ladder though became a little more costly as I accidentally hit the sliding window on the pickup truck and broke one of the small sliding panels. I really just barely hit it, but it must have been in the wrong spot, because it broke into a million pieces. Not sure what it is going to cost as of yet, always something.

I had my first basketball game of the season in the 40 and over league.  As usual we played hard and lost.  I think so far we have lost about 14 or 15 games in a row.  I am predicting a win though in the next couple of weeks though.  Our team motto is,” We’re slow, but we’re sloppy.”
