Chief has a lot of twin-power when you remember Rudy, doesn't he? Of course his coloring is very similar, but he is also very tall and has a bigger build than some of Frosty's fillies. I am thinking he will look great under saddle, and we are already dreaming of Hunter in Hand as a yearling! Well, Roxy is getting super close but still holding out on us. We think she is another couple of days away yet, but you never know. Things have been known to progress rather quickly. Roxy's udder is a little bigger tonight. Still a bit away, I would guess. Roxy got cast a little the other night in the stall. Lucky for us our Buddies were watching (Vernita) and called us to let us know. The weird part is, my PJs. Now I think I have worn my footed pjs twice since Christmas. For some odd reason, I put them on last night as I was tired and sore and thought they would be nice, warm and comfortable. I quickly ran down to do the udder page and come back to the house. I got the picture, went into the office to do the upload and then Vernita called and I ran back out to the stall to get her unstuck. The real problem was that the pajamas have a flap in back and as I would try to pull Roxy away from the wall, the snaps in back would keep coming undone. So I would have to work on Roxy and also hold up my pants. No, nothing vital was showing, just the very commonly sighted undergarment. Vernita, bless her heart, did not capture any of this on film. When Roxy has her foal and we have the vet out to do a post-partum exam on mom and babe, we will also have the vet ultrasound Fanny to see where she's at in her heat cycle. She has been in a weak, weeks-long heat already, along with QH boarder Hailey, who seemed to be in heat when she came to Saddlebrook in late December and just has never NOT been in heat! But she is still very easy to handle and other than to mind your P's and Q's around Zippy's stall it's no problem.
