Well, we are back from Prague and the trip was amazing. We were actually in Vienna and Salzburg as well. The kids sang like angels in centuries old churches and opera houses. The sights were incredible, tons of castles, gardens, cobblestone streets. And the food was good too. We stayed at the TOP hotel, which is an interesting place. It’s a destination hotel, with a spa, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, casino and many restaurants. We eat many meals here in a buffet-type room. It’s a taste of modern Prague. The rooms look as if they were appointed by IKEA, which, by the way, is one of the few brands I recognize here. No Wal-Mart but IKEA.
I am still a little out of it, but I should be back to normal by tomorrow. They say that it takes one day for every hour of time difference to get over jet lag completely. Guess I’ll be 100% by next week then! I uploaded some more videos to YouTube. I still have the last and best performance to go. Just go to http://www.youtube.com/group/TheMCC . Actually the best performance was on the bus on the way home from the last performance. The pianist asked if they cool sing the Billy Joel song Lullaby for him. It was really late and we were all tired. They did it beautifully without any music in perfect harmony. Boy I wish I would have recorded that.
I got to check all the horses over really well today. They all are doing fine. It is amazing to see how they have gotten fatter since I left. The new hay has more alfalfa in it and the rain has caused the grass to grow. All this good food has started to pack the pounds on our horses. We are the home of Fat and Friendly appaloosas.
It was pretty quiet around here last week, but there was a little excitement one day. Cindy T saw Zippy running in fast circles in the round pen, which is unusual. She ran out to see if there was a problem and saw that there was an ENORMOUS HORSE FLY chasing The Love Machine. This thing was a good two inches long by an inch wide, so you can imagine the teeth it must have had! It landed on Zippy’s back, and Cindy threw on a thick glove, grabbed his halter and coaxed him towards the fence. She climbed up, gave that sucker a good smack and it flew off. Zippy looked very relieved and neighed his thanks!
