Well, I didn’t win the reining class last weekend, actually I came in 3rd out of 3 but I didn’t forget the pattern. It was really fun and I will do better next time. I was really nervous and I am sure that affects her. Next time I won’t be so worried.
Actually the first class I had was the Non-Pro Keyhole. That’s the class I have done lots of times. Fanny did great and I finished second earning two points. Now Andy is bugging me to show at the world show in that Non Pro class. There is no way I would place at the world show as there are all really fast and excellent riders there. I will need to check and see what day it is.
Fanny showed in the Hunter in Hand the following day. That is the one class she still needed to get finished off so she can go for Worlds Best Appaloosa. Well, she did not place, but was a high point scorer. So one of the local clubs will nominate her and hopefully she can qualify anyway.
Rain, rain…lots of rain. I need to go around and make sure all of this water isn’t flowing into places it shouldn’t be. All summer we needed the rain and didn’t get any; now that the summer is almost over here comes all the rain. We still want to cut our hay field one more time, but the rain needs to stop. As you recall we had this same problem last year, just about this time. Lucky for us, we have all of our hay that we need already safe and sound in the barn. If we do get one more cutting however our neighbors will buy it and I would love to make a little extra money from that.
The horses have been staying in with all this rain. We need to get a few more shelters for a couple of our smaller paddocks. Until then with this rain I will be just rotating them into the arena so they can get some exercise. Even I don’t want to go outside.
Thanks for watching.
