We had a visitor last week that stopped by to look at the horses. He was interested in Spice and Moxy. His daughter rides and he rode as a kid and he is looking for a nice horse to get back into it with. His horse when he was young was named Agate so that is why those two caught his eye. (For those of you who dont know, their mom Roxys registered name is Cloudy Agate.) He also wants a female so either would work for him. He should be able to let us know in a week or so.
On Saturday, we woke early to get Sarah and Drew down to the barn for their lessons with Erika. Drew rode Cash and is preparing for the horse show next weekend. Sarah rode Java and is also nearly ready. I took inventory of their show clothes (all too small) and then Erika joined us at the house for lunch. That gave us the opportunity to talk about the show and who is doing what next weekend.
The horses all enjoyed the cooler weather now. There seemed to be fewer bugs also. Our neighbors picked up all the large bales out of our arena so we will have more room to ride. They are the ones with the Percherons that have done a couple of wagon and sleigh rides for us here. They use the big square bales, I think because their horses are so much bigger. It worked out great for us as we needed to get the hay off our field before the rain and the big bales were much quicker.
You can tell how tight the Three Amigos are when one of them leaves the group. Java had his feet done this morning, so he stayed inside for the night after lessons to make it easier. When he was returned to his herd (Luke and Mason) it was like they hadnt seen each other in years! They all greeted and talked excitedly for a few minutes and then it was heads down for grazing time. It looked they were all stuck together, they stand so close. Nice that the boys all get along so well.
Thanks for watching,
