And the winners are….

Trace- Luke N Pretty Cool (Fanny's)
Elvis- ZMI King of Rock (Roxy's)
Finnegan- Zips Luke Alike (Spice's)

Now to get all the paperwork in and get these guys registered. In other horse news: we got a call from Andy Chwala today on the road home from South Dakota, and Java did very well at the show last weekend. He finished 2nd and 4th in the roping, earning 10 points and a Register of Merit.  There were 18 horses in these classes, so pretty darn good for a first roping show!  And all ages were together, so even more remarkable for a youngster against all those very experienced roping horses.  Zippy has 14 ROM's so Java has a little way to go, but not bad for his first show.

I finally got the gate up in the west side of the new barn. Now that pasture is complete and I think I am going to move the horses around a little while I fix the fence today.  I spent yesterday cutting down the scrub trees around the big barn. We wanted to get them all down before the painters get started. Yesterday they power washed the entire thing. About 70 % of the paint was removed. Then they will come back in a couple of days and spray on the two coats of red. I will get some pictures of it and try to get a camera out there somewhere where you can see what is going on when they start painting. Might have to get a really long cord.
While Finnegan was out last week, sometime during the day he must have rolled under the pasture fence. Pretty scary as I thought the fence was low enough. He was standing outside the pasture trying to get back in as I drove up from a trip to Appleton. I have added one more board to make sure this won't happen again. Of course once he grows a little more it won't be a problem either.

Moses is also doing well. You recall that he had surgery to repair a torn ACL. We bought a new bed for him to lie on and he really seems to love it. He just had his staples removed  and he is feeling so much better he is whining and crying to go out and PLAY now.  Five or six more weeks of restricted activity, so keeping him on a short leash and not letting him get wild as he heals will be tricky.

Last week all the horses were farriered and we also checked Annie. She is in foal!  Roxy is also in heat so bred her again and will preg check her shortly.

Thanks for watching :

I love all the new names for our wonderful threesome! Well done Java! Hopefully Roxy will also be in foal. Keeping my fingers crossed for her. That was a lot of work cutting down those schrubs, and hopefully the paintjob will go well so all will be looking pristine again. I'm happy to hear that Moses is doing well. He'll be so happy once he will be allowed to run and play again. How is Susan doing? Hopefully she is all well again.
